Thinking of throwing your Christmas tree to the curb after the festive season is over?
You might want to think again…
Take down the tinsel but don’t throw away the tree, there is so much more it can do than hold ornaments!
Burn your recycled tree as firewood. Take it down, cut it up into manageable pieces and leave in the shed to dry out. Perfect for using in an outdoor fire pit during the summer months.
Place your tree in its stand outdoors. Fill bird feeders and hang them from the boughs.
Place your old Christmas tree at the edge of your garden. It will make a lovely wintertime habitat for small mammals and birds.
Evergreens make excellent winter mulch for tender plants, just cut a few branches from the tree and place over any delicate plants for the winter.
Make sachets of your trees pine needles to add some Christmas freshness to your home throughout the New Year.
