Large upright shrub with arching thorny stems of rounded purple-red foliage that turns brilliant- crimson in Autumn before leaf fall. Clusters of tiny primrose-yellow flowers. Flowers Apr-May. Height to 2.4m. Position - Full sun, semi-shade. Soil - Well drained, any soil. Rate of growth - Fast. Foliage - Deciduous (looses leaves during Autumn/Winter). Hardiness - Fully hardy (no protection needed during winter months). Our shrubs are grown from cuttings in 7cm pots then transplanted into 3 litre pots to grow on. They are supplied as strong well grown plants, actual size will vary according to the time of year but will generally be 30-50cms tall.
