We stock a large range of Spear & Jackson tools. Spear & Jackson have been making tools since 1760 and have a reputation second to none for strength and reliability, while being competitively priced and excellent value for money. The company is happy to give a 10 or 15 year guarantee on all its tools. We stock all tools from their Traditional and Elements range and selected tools from their County and Razorsharpe ranges. One of the first decisions to make when buying some tools is if to buy it in stainless steel or carbon steel. Stainless steel is much harder and will therefore last much longer with frequent use than a carbon steel tool. It also doesn't rust, so cleaning and greasing it at the end of the season is less important, although still recommended. Stainless steel is also smoother than carbon steel, which should make it slightly easier to work with. However stainless steel is alot more expensive, so we think it depends on how much the tool is likely to be used. If it is to be used alot and maintenance is not high on your list of priorities go for stainless steel, if not go for carbon steel and save your self some money.
